Road Construction in Congo/DRC
The DRC is one of the most infra-structurally challenged countries in the world. Ground transportation has always been difficult and the country’s vast geography, extensive forests, and criss-crossing rivers further complicate the development of infrastructure networks. We have teamed up with Des Routes (National Road Office) and Green House DRC (www.greenhousedrc.com) who are making it possible for an entire community of villagers to work on an agriculture project while earning a fair salary while improving their own communities infrastructure. The road to the rural community was non existent. In order to make the project commercially viable, and allow the villagers / suppliers / etc, Green House DRC needed to build a stretch of road which cost around $50,000. The Strain Hunters Foundation donated $50,000 USD to this campaign.
