Solar Light and Phone Charging in Swaziland
$55 Raised Of $2,500 Goal
Project background
Rural communities in Swaziland are rarely connected to electricity and mainly use candles at night as a light source. Providing families with a D.Light allows children to do their homework at night and saves each family money they would spend on buying candles.
The D.Light system also allows villagers to recharge their telephones and even generate some income by providing this service to other villagers.
The initiative
The Strain Hunters Foundation has donated 40 D.Lights in Swaziland and plans to donate much more.
Future needs
We need funds to buy and distribute the lights to people in Swaziland.
Any donation is appreciated and once we reach our goal you can follow how this project is continued on YouTube.
